9 types of food you didn't know you could 'throw on the grill'

When we decide to organize a picnic, čevapčiči, poultry, raznjiči and hot dogs are usually on the menu alongside vegetables and bread. Why not try something new? You can prepare many other delicacies on the grill.

Master chefs wouldn't be masters if they didn't know how to prepare specialties that a mere mortal has never even heard of. If you follow their advice, you can also turn into real gourmets and spice up your picnic with very special dishes. Let's see which ones.

Oysters

A popular type of shellfish, it's perfect for grilling. Peel them and season them with paprika, garlic cloves, coriander, butter and lemon juice.

Chicken pizza

Can you imagine what a chicken pizza looks like? Instead of dough, use chicken breast, in which you wrap tomatoes, mozzarella, salami and olives, but of course you can also show some creativity when choosing the ingredients.

Chicken hearts

Who would have thought that offal is also suitable for grilling. Prepare the hearts as skewers and season them with soy sauce, garlic and ginger puree, sugar, chili and lime juice.

Quail

Quail meat is suitable for grilling, as it is quick to prepare and at the same time remains juicy when baked. We recommend marinating it with canola oil, garlic and Parmesan cheese.

Bananas with bacon

A somewhat unusual combination, but definitely worth a try. Wrap a piece of banana in bacon, using toothpicks to help. Add some chili, maple syrup and salt to the finished dish.

Eel

Before starting to bake the eel, its bones must be removed, then cut into small pieces and put on a skewer. Season it with rice brandy, soy and sugar.

Preparing the octopus will take a lot of time, as this marine animal can be cooked slowly. At the end of the long process, decorate it with lemon.

Ox heart

Remove the fat and top of the venison first, or leave this part of the preparation to your butcher. Then season the heart with lemongrass, fish sauce, chili and garlic. It will be baked in just a few minutes.

Chicken skin

It may sound a little strange, but chicken skin is still edible. Marinate it in fish sauce, add some soy sauce and white pepper to it.
