Emojis are taking over the world! Not only that, emojis, which some describe as the first truly global "language", have become a significant part of digital communication. But not only did emoji communication begin to replace text messages, they also made their way into architecture. In the Netherlands, a building has sprung up with the most popular digital pictograms carved into its facade.
Emojis play an important role in today's communication. They got their own animated film, and even earlier a book - Dick Emoji is written entirely in emojis – have made their way onto T-shirts, and are spreading their greedy tentacles in other areas as well. Now they managed to break even into architecture.

In the suburbs of the Dutch city Amersfoort is an architectural office Attika Architekten made a brick building with white concrete borders. It is in this part of the facade carved 22 popular emojis and thus distanced himself from traditional facade decorations. With them, the authors wanted to emphasize their omnipresence and give the building time determinant, because in decades we will know exactly which period the building is from.
