An enviable municipal swimming pool in Denmark

Aarhus Harbor Basin

The Danish city of Aarhus, which shared the title of European Capital of Culture with the Cypriot Paphos last year, is very popular among tourists. During the summer months, in addition to many attractions, it also offers a very special swimming pool.

Architectural firm Bjarke Ingels Group is in Aarhus completed the construction of a new one harbor basin. The complex is intended for 650 to bathers, and they make it up 50-meter pool, children's pool, diving pool and two saunas.

The pool can be described as the largest structure of its kind in the world. The floating island off the coast of Denmark's second largest city will not only delight swimmers, as it also boasts volleyball courts, bars and cafes. In the future, BIG plans to build a theater, hotel, restaurants and shops.

There will be a public swimming pool till the end of August available every day between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m.
