Ingredients

  • 250 g of minced pork
  • 100 g of shrimps (chopped)
  • 2 spring onions (finely chopped)
  • 1 carrot (cut into small cubes)
  • 1 tablespoon of soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon of sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of sugar
  • 1/2 tsp grated ginger
  • 1 package of thin dough sheets for dumplings (wonton)
  • 1 egg (for coating)
  • Chopped chives (for sprinkling)

Directions

1. Preparation of the filling: In a large bowl, mix the ground pork, chopped shrimp, spring onion, carrot, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, sugar and grated ginger. Mix well to get a uniform mixture. 2. Dumpling filling: Place about one teaspoon of filling in the center of each wonton dough. Brush the edges of the dough with beaten egg. Fold the dough and press it together to form a small pocket. 3. Steaming: Place the dumplings in a steamer basket lined with baking paper. Steam the dumplings for about 15-20 minutes until fully cooked. 4. Service: Serve dim sum dumplings with soy sauce sprinkled with chives or chili sauce for dipping.
