Catch Me If You Can is the true story of a brilliant con man. This biographical crime and drama, in which Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Hanks, Amy Adams and others shone, provided an unexpected number of twists and turns in 2002, which still excites every viewer. In 2003, he received two Academy Award nominations and a Golden Globe nomination, and won a BAFTA Award. It is based on the autobiography of Frank Abagnale - a young fugitive who only finished high school, but managed to pass himself off as a pilot, doctor, lawyer and teacher while building his fortune by cashing forged checks.

All the President's Men is a historical drama and biography that was released in 1976. The film was nominated in several categories for the Oscar, Golden Globe and BAFTA. It is the story of two Washington Post journalists who in the 1970s accidentally discovered and revealed the famous Watergate affair, which led to the resignation of then-President Richard Nixon. It was about the president's people wiretapping the Democratic headquarters. The president even publicly denied the accusations, but the two journalists exposed him. This led to a scandal of global proportions, which is still well remembered today thanks to this superb film.

The Good Guys is also a 1990 biographical crime drama, with the three main characters played by Robert De Niro, Ray Liotta and Joe Pesci. The film is based on the true story of top criminal Henry Hill, whose dream was to one day become a member of the mafia. His wish also came true. Trapped in a world of crime, money and drugs with his two gangsters, he ended up as a nameless fugitive under the protection of the US government, sharing his story with a journalist. He then wrote a book about him, which later also got a visual image. He was nominated for six Oscars.

Schindler's List (1993)
Schindler's List is a 1993 biographical historical drama starring Liam Neeson. The film was directed by the superb Steven Spielberg. It presents the true story of a war profiteer who, through economic and psychological manipulation, managed to save a thousand Jews from a concentration camp. He managed to do this by ingratiating himself with the Nazis and acquiring a large fortune. He invested money in saving more than a thousand Jews and employed them in his factory. The film won seven BAFTA awards and three Golden Globes, among others.

Erin Brockovich (Erin Brockovich, 2000)
This biographical drama is named after the female lead played by Julia Roberts. Erin is a twice-divorced mother of three who hates injustice. After being without money and job for a long time, she finally manages to get a job as a lawyer. There, he comes across a case of conspiracies where a corporation covered up contaminated water in a city that caused people to get sick, some even died. In the end, she manages to win the lawsuit and thus achieves a record compensation. The actress won a Golden Globe, a BAFTA Award and an Oscar for this film.

The original version of the story of Bonnie and Clyde dates back to 1967. This biographical action thriller follows the story of two lovers who some call the Romeo and Juliet of crime. In the 1930s, during the global recession, they robbed and murdered across the United States. Their goal was not to get rich or become famous, but they wanted to take revenge on the system that put them in such a position. They remained faithful to each other and to themselves until the end. The film received as many as ten Oscar nominations, and won two.

French Connection (1971)
This crime action thriller received five out of eight Oscar nominations, three out of four Golden Globe nominations and two out of five BAFTA nominations. The film The French Federation focuses on two New York detectives trying to track down the source of heroin coming from Europe to the United States. It is about a polished cavalier of French origin, who is outwardly an innocent businessman, but in reality is the leader of a criminal organization preparing for a big drug deal. When the two detectives get too close to the truth, the crime syndicate declares war on them.

Casino is a 1995 crime epic starring top actors Robert De Niro, Sharon Stone and Joe Pesci. It is a story of greed, deception, money, influence and murder that takes place between two best friends - a casino manager and a mobster. Sharon Stone was nominated for an Oscar and a Golden Globe for her performance in the film, which she also received. Director Martin Scorsese was nominated for a Golden Globe, but did not receive it.

Spotlight (2015)
The focus is on a biographical drama and a crime thriller that was released four years ago. It stars Mark Ruffalo, Michael Keaton and Rachel McAdams. The suspenseful detective story won the Academy Awards for Best Picture and Best Screenplay and tells the true story of The Boston Globe reporters who uncovered mass child sexual abuse in the Catholic Church in 2002. The film received many praises from various journalists and film experts and is considered one of the best in the last decade.
