Russell Power is an artist from California who took a somewhat unusual approach to portraiture. His working tool is his palm. Not by holding a paintbrush! The process, which Power calls "hand-stamping", is completely unique. How does it all look?
As we can imagine, he first paints the portrait on his own palm. Everything has to happen quite quickly, because it is essential that the paint stays fresh all the time, otherwise footprint it's not good. When the portrait is in the palm of your hand, yes Power it presses against the paper or canvas and the painting is finished. The artist was looking for a way to combine his two favorite areas of painting, portraiture and body painting, merged into one and apparently he found it. With this technique, he also makes sure that each work is completely unique, not only because of the content (face), but also the shape, because the palm does not have the otherwise very predictable composition of portraits.
