Putting conditioner on your hair seems routine. Does it really matter how you use it?

Have you ever wondered if you are using hair conditioner correctly? Despite the fact that most people regularly use conditioner when washing their hair, it often happens that it is used incorrectly.

Mistakes in the use of conditioner can affect the appearance and health of the hair and scalp.

Experts have revealed how to use conditioner correctly and which mistakes are most common.

Hair is one of the most noticeable parts of our appearance, so proper care is key. Conditioner is an essential part of your daily hair care routine, but it must be used correctly to achieve the best results. So, how?

1. Wash your hair properly before applying the conditioner

A big mistake is applying conditioner to too wet hair. Hair is a fiber, and if it is too wet, the conditioner cannot penetrate deep into the hair fiber, it just "rolls" on the wet hair.

Before applying the conditioner, wring your hair well to remove excess water. This allows the conditioner to penetrate the hair and nourish it, instead of just being deposited on the surface of wet hair.

2. Apply the conditioner only to the middle and ends of the hair

After washing your hair, do not apply the conditioner to the scalp or roots, but focus on the middle and ends of the hair. The scalp has a natural oil called sebum that cares for the roots of the hair. A conditioner is not necessary at the roots unless you have naturally curly hair that you want to straighten. Scalp conditioner can make your hair look greasy and can even clog your scalp pores, which can lead to skin irritation.

3. Rinse off the conditioner completely

The next common mistake is insufficient rinsing of the conditioner. You must rinse the conditioner thoroughly, as the residue of the conditioner can cause the hair to become greasy and without volume. If you wash it off completely, your hair will be soft and shiny.

4. Use a quality conditioner

The quality of the conditioner is key. Use conditioners that are suitable for your hair type. If you have thin hair, choose light and nourishing conditioners that will not weigh your hair down. If you have thick or curly hair, choose more nourishing conditioners that will add moisture and control frizz.

5. Leave-in conditioners

In addition to traditional rinse-in conditioners, you might want to try leave-in conditioners. These products come in the form of sprays, lotions, serums or creams and are great for moisturizing your hair while washing. Leave-in conditioners also help protect hair from heat and maintain hair color for a longer time.

By following these tips and correct use of the balm your hair will be soft, shiny and healthy.

Remember, healthy hair is shiny hair!
