The artist has reversed the female and male roles in vintage ads to show how absurd they really are

Recently, it is possible to detect more and more disgust at the stereotyping of women. The latter are mostly presented in the media as a sexual object, but in the past they were mainly considered a symbol of work in the kitchen.

Eli Rezkallah is a 31-year-old art photographer who recently presented a photo series titled “In a Parallel Universe". This consists of updated versions sexist ads, created in the 1950s. As you'll notice in the gallery, it's in the ads put men in the position of women.

Eli explained that he got the idea for his project while visiting his family in New Jersey on Thanksgiving. He overheard the conversation of male relatives who believed that women are at their best in the kitchen, taking care of children and performing 'women's duties'. Although he knew that many men today did not share the same opinion, he was surprised that many still did not give up that mentality.

Although the ads he redesigned were released approx 60 years, but their influence is clearly still present. Therefore, he decided to offer people a slightly different picture of the world.

The artist of Lebanese roots hopes that people who are still trapped in the mistaken belief will finally just accept that he stereotyping of women unjustified.
