At Audi, as part of the final of the DTM championship in Hockenheim, they set up a study RS7 and sent it driverless and at full speed around the famous race track. In doing so, they broke the record for the speed of autonomous driving with speeds of over 220 km/h. When the video was published, the manufacturer's website even canceled due to the number of visits.
As part of the Audi project "piloted driving" the driver had the task via remote control to complete the lap as quickly and accurately as possible. It took a good two minutes for him, while also reaching speeds over 220 km/h, with which the RS7 fell the record for the fastest autonomous personal vehicle.
The car was taught how to drive around the Hockenheimring
The ride was assisted GPS triangulation via Wi-Fi networks in the vehicle, and special ones were also responsible for orientation on the runway 3D cameras, which while driving recorded the route and the data recorded previously with the help of the racing driver, comparison and, if necessary, corrected the planned direction of the autonomous vehicle. This means that the car was literally taught how to drive around the famous racetrack, so that the vehicle's computer, with the help of the driver using a remote control, constantly compared the driving with that of a professional racer and imitated it.

Even more interesting than on the runway was what happened later on the manufacturer's website, which for a short time after the publication of the video literally "burned out" from the number of visitors and was also completely inaccessible for a while.
