Until the premiere, it is not possible to define the project Audition for Life precisely, as it is created according to an unforeseen scenario. In any case, it is a journey into the unknown, as yet unseen and unheard, as it was created as a result of the collaboration between the internationally established Slovenian dance and theater group Betontanc, the Japanese dance and multimedia collective Original Tempo and the musical duet Silence. Under the direction of Matjaž Pograjec, the mixed cast performed in Slovenia and Japan in 2011 and 2012. audition as a meeting place between East and West, past and present, dance, theatre, music, etc. The rising stars of contemporary dance and proven unusual and innovative Slovenian artists promise a fresh and innovative choreographic and multimedia approach, which will open new paths for the development of contemporary dance and enriched the Slovenian space with Japanese contemporary artistic practices. Since we already know Betontanc and Silence well, it makes sense to comment on Original Tempo at this point. In Japan, the collective is also known for its unconventional integration of modern technology into its performances, which, combined with the Slovenian approach, will be more than the sum.
