A stunning project by street artist JR with the New York City Ballet

The French street master, nicknamed JR, once again delivers a unique awesomeness. As part of the Art Series 2014 exhibition event, this time he connected with the New York City Ballet (NYCB), where through his recognizable large-format portrait collage technique, he managed to capture a glimpse into the poetry of the lightness of dance.

Last year, NYCB began collaborating with contemporary visual artists whose extraordinary creations, inspired by the dancers and the rich history of this prestigious ballet company, are exhibited at the annual Art Series events at New York's Lincoln Center complex. This year's installation, entitled Les Ballets de Faile, also hosts, among others, the street art genius known for his large-scale project Inside Out.

The artist JR thus created a giant image of an eye, composed of photographs of ballet dancers in soft line positions, resting on a vast undulation of paper fields taken from a bird's eye view. A truly wonderful creation of the beauty of movement, closely related to the light play of textural whiteness, can be experienced in New York together with three special special ballet performances on January 23rd and February 7th and 13th.
