Babypod: a speaker that plays music to an unborn baby

Pediatricians often recommend that children develop with as many pleasant stimuli as possible, and music is no exception. And why should we wait for the first steps of a little one, when we can give him a love for the universal language that is music even before birth? Using the Babypod, a special speaker, we will stimulate the vocalization and development of the nervous system of the fetus, one day the baby.

Babypod was conceived after research conducted on Institut Marquès, where they studied positive effects of listening to music early in life, especially what positive effects music has on memory skills and brain development later in life.

Based on the results of the research, a team of experts designed intravaginal device, which actually stimulated the unborn baby when used by a pregnant woman – and after an ultrasound, Babypod was seen to even cause the unborn baby to responds by moving lips and tongue.

Babypod stimulation is simple and painless. Expectant mothers insert the Babypod like a tampon, and then manage it via smartphone. If they want to listen to the same sounds their fetus is listening to, they can do so through a smartphone and headphones. Babypod does as well simply remove, and clean with mild soap and water.

You may be wondering how the Babypod works and if the fetus can even hear. Science has proven that can detect sound, but music played through the belly (for example, headphones on the belly) never really reaches the fetus. This is because the abdominal wall acts as a sound barrier to limit sound. Babypod, however, as intravaginal speaker it reduces the number of layers that separate the child and the music. This is how the fetus perceives music with equal power, as if it were passed directly.
