Don't trust the safety of Chinese food? Baidu says they have the answer. The Chinese giant, known for its Internet browser, introduced smart chopsticks for Chinese food a few days ago.
Smart sticks, known in China as Kuaisou, detect oil that is contaminated. General manager of the company Baidu, Robin Li succinctly summed up the essence of the product with a phrase "a new way of perceiving the world". In the future, with the help of a smart stick, you should find out the origin of oil, water and other foods and whether they have expired and what makes up the food on your plate.
A video posted by the company shows how the product is used when you connect it to smartphone app. In one of the experiments, the chopsticks were dipped in olive oil and the application detected this as "good", and in the second experiment in recycled cooking oil, which the application detected as "bad".

In recent years, China has been rocked by quite a few scandals, including poisoned milk and radioactive pork that glowed in the dark. In addition to the freshness of the cooking oil, the smart chopsticks will also measure it pH values, food temperature and calories. The price of the wand is still unknown, as they are not yet ready for mass production at Baidu.
