Once upon a time there was a train called the Balkan Express that connected two big, beautiful cities, Istanbul in Turkey and Paris in France.
At the intermediate stations, the wagons were filled with travelers from countries that were very different from each other, but an attentive listener realized from the stories of fellow travelers that they were connected by many things.
Dear children and young people, we invite you to get on the train with us, which will take you through Southeastern Europe. We will learn about the geographical location and cultural characteristics of the countries of this area. Dance the Serbian kola with us, write your name in the Greek alphabet and learn a sentence or two in Albanian. Do you know what the Romanian flag is and does Bulgaria have any sea? Do you dare to test your knowledge in a quiz?
The workshop takes place alongside the exhibition Images of the Balkans. Identity and memory in the long 19th century.
The workshop is suitable for children from 9 to 14 years old. Duration 60 minutes. The price is 2.5 euros.
