On March 3, the ballet ensemble Malandain from Biarritz will host the dance performance Cinderella (Cendrillon) in Cankarjev dom, which will take us to the world of princes and cobblers with a mixture of modern choreography by the outstanding Thierry Malandain and classical music by Sergei Prokofiev.
On the third of March, music and dance on the stage of the Gallus Hall of Cankarjev dom will take us back to our childhood - especially us girls. The evening will be marked by a sign Cinderella, fairy tales that had a special place in the childhood of each of us. The classical music of the Russian composer Sergei Prokofiev will take us to the world of evil stepsisters, princes and cobblers, while modern choreography will tell the story. He will be visiting in Ljubljana the French Malandain Ballet from Biarritz, which, under the leadership of the dedicated and knowledgeable choreographer Thierry Malandain, is considered one of the most interesting and successful ballet ensembles in Europe.

With an exceptional balance between the classical and the modern, and between the traditional and the new, Malandain breathed his own author's stamp into the classical ballet story, for which he received the Marie Taglioni European Ballet Awards in September 2014 recognition for the best choreography right for the performance of Cinderella. In the fresh setting of the story that has been danced so many times, the international jury recognized above all qualities such as a sophisticated sense of humor, exceptional technical sophistication, complex mastery of storytelling and insightful psychological analysis. Malandain's version of Cinderella is placed in front of the audience in a more personal way, as it shows the path of ascension dancing stars, who, through personal doubts and suffering, dances into the light of the stage only because of unwavering hope and perseverance.
