Banka Koper, in cooperation with Intesa Sanpaolo Card and MasterCard, has become the first Slovenian bank to enable users to make mobile payments using a smartphone via the QL and Wave2Pay services. With these advanced solutions, Banka Koper looks to the future, when we will no longer need physical wallets.
QL application enables mobile payment via smartphone. Paying with this is very easy, as the user just opens the application, enters his PIN number, reads the QR code on the seller's mobile device and makes the payment. Funds are transferred from the payer's account to the recipient's account at the same time.
What are the advantages of QL services?
– Users can replace their physical wallet with a smartphone that they always have at hand.
– QL Payments are the ideal solution for all small payments without looking for change and at points of sale (within Slovenia) that are not equipped with POS terminals.
- With QL Transfer, you can easily transfer funds from your account to your friend's account using only a smart device. This type of transfer is also possible outside the schedule of payment traffic and the application itself finds and prints invoices recipients.
- QL services can also be used by those who are not clients of Banka Koper, since instead of a transaction account in the bank, they can only open a prepaid account, to which they transfer credit through their parent bank.
Another service activated by Banka Koper is Wave2Pay, which represents contactless mobile payment based on HCE (Host Card Emulation) technology. The latter currently represents the most modern technological development in the world in the field of fast, efficient and secure payment with the wave of a smartphone. Wave2Pay it works on the basis of the most advanced NFC technology, which enables a contactless connection between a smartphone and a POS terminal that accepts contactless payments. This service can be used by those who have a payment card (currently available with the Activa MasterCard payment card) and an open transaction account with Banka Koper. With the help of the application, the plastic payment card is safely transferred to the mobile wallet in the user's smartphone.
