Are beavers the cutest animal in the world?

Cute beavers

A few days ago, for the first time in history, Slovenia joined the countries that celebrated International Beaver Day on April 7; we exterminated them in our country by hunting in the middle of the 18th century, but now they are slowly returning to the Sava, Mura, Drava, Krka and Sotle river basins. There are currently around 100 of them living in Slovenia. In honor of the cute beavers, whose activities influence the entire water ecosystem (increasing biodiversity), we have prepared a photo gallery that will make you love beavers even more.

April 7, 2016 was international beaver day, rodents, which are an extremely important element in the preservation of the coastal ecosystem. They are a protected species in Slovenia and are slowly "harvested" after extermination in the 18th century (the main culprit is hunting), but they did not fare any better in other parts of Europe either. They chose our country as their domicile again in 1998, and their colony is slowly but steadily increasing.
