Bentley Bentayga V8: the sportiest Bentayga with an exciting new engine

Bentley first introduced its luxury SUV in 2015. Back then, it had a massive W12 engine. About a year later, they borrowed a diesel 4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine from the Audi SQ7, which for many was quite a radical change. At the beginning of this year, the team from Crewes released a petrol version of the Bentayga V8.

Bentley Bentayga now has too petrol V8 engine. It has 4 liter capacity, 542 horsepower and 770 Nm of torque. It has just as much torque as found in the Porsche Panamera and Cayenne Turbo. With this power, the Bentayga accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds and reaches maximum speed 290 km/h. By comparison, the W12 version is just 4 tenths of a second faster from 0 to 100 km/h and has an 11 km/h higher top speed. The transfer is via 8-speed gearbox transfers to all four wheels, whereby in normal driving 60 % of power is distributed to the rear wheel pair. The V8 version is said to be a lot more economical from the one with the W12 engine. Combined consumption should only amount to 11.4 l/100 km, and we can drive with a full tank of fuel up to 746 kilometers. Start/Stop technology is standard, as is the system for turning off individual cylinders when they are not needed.

The exterior will not change much for the Bentley Bentayga V8. The exhaust pipe attachment has been changed slightly, but this time the Bentayge V8 will be available for the first time with carbon-ceramic brakes. At the same time, these will be the largest carbon-ceramic brakes ever worn by Bentleys. In addition, these are also the largest front brake in the world, which were ever installed on a series-produced car. The interior of the Bentayga V8 differs by carbon inserts and steering wheel, which may have built-in wood inserts. It is also a novelty Naim sound system, which is the strongest in this segment and has just 1,950 watts of power. In March, we will witness another connection hybrid version of the Bentayga.
