Some of us have been waiting for the multidisciplinary project of the Brazilian creator Duda Pavia for quite some time, because we got excited about the interesting approach and unconventional exploration of stage art in the show Love Dolls about two years ago. Since we don't have the daily opportunity to watch similar dance extravaganzas, transitions between genres, or original approaches on domestic stages, the Bestiaires show is certainly a reason for some enthusiasm. From the fusion of popular music, puppets and unconventional "making love", Duda Pavia's latest production retreats into the world of Greek gods. Since this one is not particularly distinguished by its rigor, it offers a series of starting points relevant for the contemporary stage - perhaps even the opposite; modern shows can also tell something about the world of Greek gods. Anyway, in the play, the gods are before us in various surprising forms: animal, monstrous or human. The purpose of their visit is a show, where before us - mortals - they show their successes and defeats, but above all they celebrate their immortality. The interweaving of puppets and dance, strongly focused on aesthetics, will challenge us in our perception of modern times, beautiful and ugly, fantasy and reality. The play was created in Norway, the Netherlands and Slovenia, and in addition to Iztok Lužar, Ester Natzijl and Ilija Surla, a large number of local and foreign creators participate in it.
