Cyclists and their safety are often under attack. Sometimes because of poor road infrastructure, sometimes because of visibility, and sometimes because of themselves. But regardless of the reasons, their safety still needs to be improved, and Michelin, otherwise one of the world's largest tire manufacturers, has taken a step in this direction. Namely, they presented Bikesphere, a device that will detect the proximity of a car and a bicycle and warn them with light.
Bikesphere is actually normal at first glance bicycle light. Well, with the difference that it has a built-in sensor that turns on automatically in times of poor visibility (darkness, fog, etc.). It emits a red laser light around the bike and thus makes the rider more visible. She will mark it safety distance between the bicycle and the approaching vehicle. If a car or any other vehicle gets too close to the cyclist, the laser will immediately start circling the light around the bike, giving everyone involved an even more active warning.
Bikesphere is the first product created in the department Trendy Drivers at Michelin, where they will continue to develop products aimed at road safety in the future.
