Fathers who have baby girls live longer, according to science. Here we reveal why.
When a small innocent being is born, be it a boy or a girl, his or her parents' world changes completely. It's not the two of you anymore, it's the three of you. We're not going anymore, but we're going. A child is a gift that adds meaning to parents' lives. But if it's a girl, it should be according to more recent research even extended his father's life.
Since not much research was done in the past that would reveal the effects of having a child on the father's health and body, researchers from of the Jagiellonian University in Krakow decided to study this area more. They collected data from more than 4,000 parents, including 2,147 mothers and 2,163 fathers. The children included in the research were of different genders. It was found that the total number of children or sons had no particular effect on fathers. The number of girls, however, was related with the lifespan of the fathers.
Researchers claim that fathers should live longer with their daughters - and the more daughters they have, the longer they are supposed to live, and that's it 74 weeks longer for every daughter, they claim. And while this is great news for all fathers of girls, research results are not so encouraging for mothers. According to another study published in American Journal of Human Biology, they have both daughters and sons negative effect on maternal health and length of life, as they should be single women are mostly happier.
Another third study however, it shows that a child, regardless of gender, prolongs the lifespan of both parents. Based on data collected over 14 years, these researchers found that couples with children live longer than those without children.
Do you agree with studies that children extend the lifespan of their parents? Or do you think that these children cause too many gray hairs and thereby shorten their lives?
