BMW M5 Competition: an even more toxic M5

BMW M5 Competition

As usual, the Internet has overtaken the official channels of information this time as well. Some of the information was wrong, but most of it hit the spot. Now we have official information available and thus we can create a complete picture of the new BMW M5 Competition.

The BMW M5 is a beast in itself, but if we add the Competition label to that, we are already at the limit of what is possible. BMW M5 Competition were introduced for a reason. This is hidden in the fact that almost 40 % buyers of the new M5, order the additional package of Competition equipment because they want it from their M5 more. Under the hood you will find the same 4.4 liter bi-turbo 8-cylinder Into the engine. With the difference that the engineers managed to get more out of it 17 additional horsepower. The BMW M5 Competition has both 617 horsepower, while the torque remains at 750 Nm.

All this power is enough to propel the M5 Competition sedan from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds, and from 0 to 200 km/h in 10.8 seconds. The speedometer will stop at 303 km/h. The BMW M5 Competition remains four-wheel drive and uses the same system M xDrive like the BMW M5 presented last year. An 8-speed gearbox takes care of power transmission M Steptronic and we can use it in three modes: efficiency, sport mode and ultra high performance.

To put the BMW M5 Competition even more in the hands of the driver, it has this option set up its roar from the tailpipes. By using the button M Sound we can choose between loud and more calm chant. The exhaust pipes are coated with black chrome and they go well with the exterior black accessories. You'll find these on the door handles, mirror caps, B-pillar, window surrounds and rear bumper. Inside, there are no major differences compared to the M5. Graphics it shows the BMW M5 Competition logo, and the black seat belts are added classical BMW M colors. If the BMW M5 were to be compared to a beast in a cage, the BMW M5 Competition can be said to be like a beast in a cage, which we additionally increased in price with a stick, before we lowered it to the plane.
