The drift of the BMW M5 lasted as long as 8 hours, during which time the car slid "on the side" for as much as 374.17 kilometers. BMW driver Johan Schwartz was behind the wheel again, breaking his own record when he drove 82.51 kilometers with the previous generation BMW M5.

BMW thus broke the record that she owned Toyota, when he is by car GT86 skated 165.04 kilometers. In order for BMW to succeed in breaking the record, it had to be thirsty 4.4-liter V8 engine, which has 600 horsepower, right refuel five times.

For this they needed another M5 s converted luggage compartment, in which the fuel tank was located. Refueling was right an epic scene, worthy of the action in the Fast and the Furious movies. The challenge was primarily how to 50 seconds add between 50 and 60 liters of fuel and in the process prevent any possible accidents. The two cars even collided a few times while refueling, but without major consequences and without endangering the new record. At the same time, BMW managed to break another Guinness record, because two cars simultaneously, side by side, slid 63.16 kilometers.
