BMW roadster – a revolution in road bikes

BMW announced a roadster study for this year's prestigious Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este on Lake Como in Italy, but no one thought what the Bavarians actually had in mind. The study has two wheels less than everyone expected, as it is a study of the road motorcycle of the future, which has been called a roadster.

Thus, as every year, BMW managed to stun the public this year as well, as they presented to the public a class motorcycle naked bike, with many modern approaches in terms of design, frame and image.

The observer on the side initially notices the extremely short wheelbase and compact frame of the motorcycle.

The frame is a classic BMW boxer two cylinder sizes 1,170 cubic centimeters, which develops 90 kW or 123 Km and 92 Nm of maximum torque. The power is sent to the rear wheel via cardan drive, and the rear suspension consists of a single swing arm with an Öhlins sports shock absorber, which is also signed under the front suspension, and Brembo on the powerful brake system. The framework is a tubular spaceframe, which ensures strength and at the same time extremely lightness.

Design-wise, the motorcycle feels as if you would ride it today or in the future Robocop, because the front part, or rather the mask, resembles the aforementioned helmet, and it takes care of the lights an array of LEDs, which resembles the eyes of an insect. From the side, the observer first notices that the motorcycle has an extraordinary short wheelbase and compact frame. At the rear, the large-diameter trumpet-shaped exhaust pipe and the huge rear wheel catch the eye, while the rear lights are barely noticeable and are also completely LED. However, the roadster concept has many other minor features, such as being minimalistic Alcantara seat and a black painted engine and bright blue triangle, which essentially represents the base spaceframe frame.

Like the other studies of the prestigious Lake Como event, don't expect this one in showrooms in the near future.
