BMW series 2 cabrio – the Bavarian "coupe" dropped the solid roof and opened the canvas

At last year's premiere of the Series 2 coupe, BMW announced that this year the range of this model will be enriched by a cabriolet version, which, like its predecessor - the Series 1 Cabrio, will retain the tradition of the canvas sliding roof. Opening and closing will be possible, as before, while driving up to a speed of 50 km/h. Four engines and two transmissions available, and next year also xDrive.

According to the predecessor, the model pulled in length by 72 millimeters and 26 in width, and the wheelbase also gained 30 mm. The new trunk is also more spacious, which can accommodate 280 liters of luggage, when the roof is cleaned and 335 liters when the roof is open. This is 30 liters more than before.

From the side, the kinship with the previous series 1 cabrio will be the most obvious, although you will not be able to exchange them. The canvas roof will be of high quality three-layer, which ensures that extremely little sound enters the interior.

The range of engines will initially include three petrol engines (220i, 228i and M235i) and one diesel engine (220d), combined with the familiar six-speed manual transmission or eight-speed automatic steptronic, and in the course of next year, the offer will be strengthened by versions with z xDrive drive.

In addition to the rest, it is part of the series 2 cabrio's standard equipment adaptive driving dynamics system with the familiar four ways of setting the engine response and other vehicle parameters, and compared to its predecessor, the newcomer will also have significantly more advanced technology, which will be available for an additional fee.

Buyers will also be able to decide and apply for the package sports line (which will mean 18-inch shoes, sports chassis and suspension and a sportier interior) and M sport package, which will be richer for aero body kit, 10 millimeters lower chassis, 18-inch M wheels, door sills with M logo and sports front seats and M sports steering wheel. The option will also be special and distinctive Estoril blue color.

The 2 cabrio series will officially enter showrooms in March next year, and prices on the domestic market will start at 35,350 euros, which means it will be there 5,550 euros more expensive from Kupej's brother.
