The music scene in Great Britain has recently seen a series of discoveries of new and not-so-new musicians. What they all have in common is that the new urbanity of the British music scene is plowed by very young people, and their biggest fans are their peers. The music of Gen Y is the music of spoiled British cream - in the best sense of the word.
KING KRULE X SPOILED REBEL
Despite being in his early twenties, Archy Marshall is on the music scene under the name King Krule and Zoo Kid has been around since 2010. The spoiled rebel with a troubled childhood and problems with insomnia released his first studio album 6 Feet Beneath the Moon last year, which received many positive reviews. His unique sound, which falls somewhere between indie rock and punk jazz, was nominated for the BBC's Sound of 2013 award.

LONDON GRAMMAR X THE MELANCHOLY OF OUR GENERATION
Twenty-three-year-old vocalist with a magical melancholic voice Hannah Reid, keyboardist Dot Major and guitarist Dan Rothman in the corridors of the University of Nottingham met in 2009. The electro-pop trio London Grammar was born, which debuted with the album If You Wait last year and climbed to the very top of the British music charts.

FKA twigs X ENIGMATIC GIRL
Today, twenty-six-year-old Tahliah Barnett – FKA twigs was born in rural Gloucestershire, where she attended (who would have thought) a conservative Catholic school. The enigmatic, odd-looking girl, whose music is a mix of electronica and trip hop, released her first album LP1 this year, and is also stirring up media spirits due to the fact that she is in a new relationship with the most famous vampire in the world, Robert Pattinson.

SBTRKT X CREAM OF MUSIC COLLABORATION
SBTRKT (don't break your tongue - it's read as "subtract") is the dubstep/indie pop/electronic music project of Londoner Aaron Jerome, best known for his collaborations with Jessie Ware, Sampha and of course Ezra Koenig, with whom he created a total hit ”New Dorp. New York”. The British producer released his second studio album Wonder Where We Land on October 7 this year.

ALT-J X THIS YEAR'S INDIE BREAKTHROUGH
English indie rock band alt-J (aka John Newman, Thom Green and Gus Unger-Hamilton) from Leeds have been on the music scene since 2007, and it seems they real breakthrough only this year. Their second album, This is All Yours, reached the top of practically all British alternative charts in less than a month (it was released on September 22).

CHVRCHES X SCOTTISH TALENTS
The Scottish electronic trio CHVRCHES consists of singer (journalist by training) Lauren Mayberry, Iain Cook and Martin Doherty. Last year's first studio album The Bones of What You Believe also contains their most successful "single" The Mother We Share; their nomination for the BBC Sound of 2013 award also proved that they are one of the biggest new musical talents.
