Can towels be washed with other clothes? The truth that will surprise you!

When it comes to washing towels, most people think that just running the washing machine and adding some detergent is enough. But a small mistake in washing can ruin your towels or even your clothes! Should you really always wash towels separately? Let's check out what the experts say - get ready, you might have been doing it wrong for years!

Why isn't separate washing just a fad?

Towels are real collectors of moisture, bacteria and dirt. Their fibers are dense and during washing they leave tiny flakes that can cling to more delicate clothes. Have you ever wondered why your favorite black sweaters suddenly have white flakes? The culprit is – towels! Besides, it makes perfect sense – towels often require washing at high temperatures, which is a big no-no for clothes.

Fighting bacteria: temperature warfare

If you want really clean towels, wash them at 60°C or higher. Bacteria have no chance of surviving at this temperature! But your favorite silk blouse? After such a treatment, it will shrink by two sizes – and not in a good way. So don’t try to save time – towels and clothes have to go their separate ways.

Emollient? Friend or foe?

If you wash towels with clothes, there is another danger – fabric softener. Although clothes love it, it can make towels lose their absorbency and become stiff. What to do? Instead of fabric softener, add a little white vinegar – it will provide softness without compromise!

Drying – who wins over whom?

Did you know that drying towels and clothes together can be a real disaster? Towels absorb a lot of water and therefore stay wet for a long time. If you dry them together with light clothes, your T-shirt or shirt will end up either overdried and wrinkled or still slightly damp. Drying separately is not a luxury – it is a simple solution for perfectly fresh clothes.

The truth is simple: wash smart!

If you want your towels to stay soft and fragrant, and your clothes to stay in perfect shape, washing them separately is a must. Real housewives know – separating them in the washing machine saves nerves, laundry, and maybe even your marriage!
