We make carpets is a Dutch group of three innovative individuals, Marcia Nolte, Stijn van der Vleuten and Bob Waardenburg, who combine traditional knowledge and techniques with a critical view of today's consumer society in unusual carpets.
To make carpets of huge dimensions, they use everyday, discarded objects, worthless objects, such as plastic forks, paving tiles, hooks, bottles, balloons,... they are inspired by the colors, shapes and possibilities offered by the chosen material. Thus, the result is not only a decorative carpet, but also an object that makes us think about the consumer society that produces these discarded objects. So they are in their set carpets made of bottles, balloons, plastic sponges, plastic forks, pasta, birthday hats, matches,...stunningly beautiful.
