Cliff houses are nothing new. In the Middle Ages, countless castles grew on them, even today many people, admittedly not out of strategic aspirations, build a house on the edge of a precipice. But Casa Brutale on the coast of the Aegean Sea adds a new dimension to cliff houses. It does not lie on but in the cliff, and in addition, it acts as if it were rotated by 90 degrees. The concept is the work of OPA.
Casa Brutale it is a symbol of simplicity and harmony of modern architecture. It is a study of aesthetics, structure, functionality and engineering that originated at Open Platform for Architecture (OPA) and hopes that one day it will grow into a real project. They drew inspiration for it from the house Casa Malaparte, but rather than sitting above the ground, it is lodged between the rock.
