Casa mille olivi: a wonderful house in Istria with a breathtaking view

Warmer days are coming, ideal for escaping to the sea. And Istria seems like one of the most interesting choices. The beautiful house Casa mille olivi in Buzet is surrounded by beautiful nature, offers superb cuisine and a break from everyday stress.

Casa mille olivi or the house of a thousand olives is the tribute of the owner Ana Pisek to her father, grandfather and great-grandfather, who bought the first olives in Istria in 1868. The first traces of the house's existence date back to 1813. It was left to itself for many years. In the 1990s, the descendants and current owners returned to it and repaired it only enough to prevent it from falling into disrepair. But the desire to bring the house back to life remained in them. Thus, in 2017, they began a complete renovation and welcomed their first guests already the following year. Since then, more have been added to the house glass terrace and infinity pool.

It's an interior natural, creative, traditional and modern at the same time. All furniture, stairs, mezzanine construction and all carpentry work are made of solid wood. The predominant color is white with gray-pink shades of details, while the external elements are blended with olive color. The reconstruction created the conditions for obtaining the categorization s five stars, and since the end of last year they have been proudly carrying the certificate ECO Domus of the County of Istria for environmentally friendly accommodation.

In a secluded place with a view of Lake Butoniga on the one hand and Motovun and Motovun forests on the other side, Casa mille olivi is surrounded by thousands of olive trees. From here, the view invites you to the nearby hill, surrounded by oak trees and medieval walls, which invites you to peek into home of Veli Jožet. In addition to Motovun, they also recommend a visit to the newly renovated castle Petrapylos, formerly known as Kosmati grad. Perhaps it is best to get to know more after visiting Petrapilosa Minero and the oldest bauxite mine in Europe, and then you look for it in the land of Istria white truffle and enjoy it on a plate.
