The first day of school will be especially happy on the coast, because on Tuesday, September 1, the popular food market Odprta kuhna is coming to Koper. The organizers will turn Carpaccio Square and the neighboring Taverna into a real world in miniature, as they will bring with them renowned suppliers from all over Slovenia, who will swing their kitchens alongside well-known local suppliers. Carnivores and vegetarians, trans-eaters and vegans, lovers of good wine and fans of craft beer will find something to do.

Between August 24 and 28, the Kraken Short Festival (FeKK) will take place in the hall of the Slovenian Cinematheque and outdoors, in the auditorium on the Metelkova museum platform.
Book the night of Wednesday 12th to Thursday 13th August 2015 under the stars as the sky will be lively. We will witness one of the most beautiful space phenomena, a meteor shower, when flashes rain like a bet. The meteor shower is also known as the tears of St. Lawrence, as the annual event falls during the time when St. Lawrence rejoices. It will shed "tears" until August 24, but it will be best seen from Wednesday to Thursday.
Oktoberfest - who doesn't know it? All beer lovers know that late September and early October is the center of the Oktoberfest beer world in Munich, Germany. This year's 182nd Oktoberfest will take place between September 19 and October 4, and beer will once again flow in streams in the Bavarian capital.
At the end of August, the events in Goriške Brdy will once again be marked by the literary and musical festival Sanje in Medana. The locations in Medana, Šmartno, Vipolže Castle and Dobrovo Castle will host first-class musical events, literary talks, fairytale performances and other unforgettable adventures on stage. The project traditionally attracts local and cross-border visitors as well as tourists and audiences from the wider Slovenia.
For the first time in the history of Slovenia, we will be able to see and hear the performance of the world-famous Russian orchestra, The Red Army Choir, Orchestra and Ballet. The Red Army Choir draws its repertoire from Russian folk songs, Russian patriotic songs and classical music (Bizet, Wagner, Mozart, Michel Legrand, Francis Lai, etc.), as well as pop and rock hits. On September 25, we will be able to witness a music and dance spectacle in Stožice in Ljubljana.
The Aljaž Tower, a symbol of Slovenia, today on the top of Triglav, at 2,864 meters above sea level, has been offering shelter and a photographic motif to mountaineers for 120 years. Defender of Slovenia was founded by Jakob Aljaž and three assistants on August 7, 1895, after he bought 16 square meters of land on the roof of Slovenia for a goldsmith. The Slovenian-Croatian duo 2Cellos (Luka Šulić and Stjepan Hauser) achieved world fame after their cover of Jackson's Smooth Criminal was viewed by more than a million viewers on YouTube. But 2Cellos also have Elton John in their fan base, who has supported them since the beginning of their career. After the Ljubljana performance, the energetic duo is returning to Slovenia again - on August 18, they will perform at the Portorož Auditorium, and they promise visitors the unexpected.
