From the 16th to the 24th of September 2017, the Slovenian capital will be shaking with the quick beats of dancing shoes - Ljubljana will host CoFestival 2017, an international contemporary dance festival. The ninth edition of the Ljubljana art festival Sonica will take place between 25 and 30 September 2017. Sonica Festival 2017 includes a week of great concerts, audiovisual performances, talks with artists and nature walks, the greatest work of art we know. On Friday, September 29 and Saturday, September 30, Maribor will host the fourth, now traditional, microbrewing festival - Makro Beer Fest 2017, a large festival of small breweries, where 30 brewers from Germany, Austria, Hungary, Croatia, Serbia and Slovenia. Visitors will be able to choose from about 100 types of beer, different styles of "pale ale", "indian pale ale", "porter", "stout" and the increasingly popular "sour" and "gose".
The musical Rent, a hit of the New York scene of the 1990s, will come to life on the main stage of the City Theater of Ljubljana in a renovation by director Stanoslav Moša. The premiere will take place on Thursday, September 21, 2017, at 8 p.m. on the big stage. Don't miss the musical, which features a variety of sing-along songs and a powerful confessional story. Between November 17 and 18, 2017, two gourmet festivals will take place in different locations in the capital: the 20th Slovenian Wine Festival and the 10th Culinary Festival. VI. Biennale of Slovenian Independent Illustration will take place in Cinema Šiška and Dobra Vaga from October 16 to November 20, 2017. After the triumphant conquest of North Korea, also immortalized in the high-profile film Liberation Day, the cult local band Laibach returned with their first studio album after the 2014 hit Spectre.
