Festival Trnfest 2016 - program and performers

Thornfest 2016 will be! It was hanging in the air for a long time, but the international summer festival, which traditionally brightens the August events in Ljubljana, will take place again this year. Below we publish the program and the list of performers. Trnfest will take place from 4 to 24 August 2016.

Ljubljana Motor Show 2017 - the motor show returns to Slovenia

The auto show is returning to Ljubljana after a long break. The Ljubljana Motor Show 2017 will be hosted by the Gospodarska raztavišče between March 27 and April 2, 2017. The last time a motor show was hosted in Slovenia was in Celje, way back in 2006, and for the last motor show in the capital, we have to go even further back in history, namely 17 years ago!

Cross-country event: Red Bull 400 Planica 2016 - 4th race to the top of the Gorišek brothers' airfield

Arguably the most brutal running event in the world, the Red Bull 400 Planica 2016, the run to the top of the Gorišek brothers' airfield, which is officially the steepest 400-meter uphill run in Europe, is approaching. The fourth chance to win the run with a start at the bottom of the giant mountain (that is where the Slovenian eagles usually land) and the finish at the top of the starting ramp will be offered to mountain runners on September 17, 2016.

Music festival CMA 2016 (Croatian Music Adventures) on Banje beach

Renault crossovers Captur and Kadjar are curious explorers and the best adventurers with an adventurous character. This year, in the company of bloggers Ajda Sitar and Juret Marolta, they are going to the CMA 2016 (Croatian Music Adventures) music festival on Banje beach, where they will party for two days with ten DJs, including the duo Sigma and the cult British DJ Maestro .

Ocarina festival Bled 2016

In front of the gardens is the Okarina festival Bled 2016. The international music festival of ethnic music is the iron repertoire of summer events in Bled. Every year it attracts a colorful range of musical performers from all over the world, and this year will be no different, when Okarina will be held for the 26th time. It starts on July 26, 2016 and ends on August 7, 2016, during which time 14 foreign bands will take the stage and one Slovenian representative, namely the first lady of Slovenian poetry, singer and actress Svetlana Makarovič, who will present part of her collection of chansons.

Summer Gathering 2016 & Matador @Ambasada Gavioli

In almost a decade and a half, since its seed was planted in the podalp raver lump, Summer Gathering has become one of the biggest constants in the summer party calendar in the northern Adriatic, with heart nurturing and careful selection of the program. He has already visited several places, performed in festival and club editions, and the Fetch the Vibe collective has crossed geographical, musical and other borders with him several times.

Concert: 2Cellos - Ljubljana will witness an epic spectacle in 2017

The world-renowned Slovenian-Croatian duo 2Cellos, consisting of Luka Šulić and Stjepan Hauser, will perform their first arena show in Ljubljana on April 7 and 8, 2017, in the Stožice Arena in Ljubljana. Apart from Belgrade, the Slovenian capital will be their only outpost in the former Yugoslavia, so don't miss the concert spectacle and get your tickets in time (they go on sale on July 21, 2016). It goes without saying that they will sell out quickly, but we can add that they recently played in Zagreb in front of a crowd of 50,000 people, so it can happen that the Arena crowd will be too small for everyone who wants to listen! At the concert, the duo will present their biggest hits, but there will also be new, upcoming material that is currently being created in the studio.

Concert: Prismojeni Blues Professors with a "farewell" in Križanke

The proud Blues Professors are steadily expanding their fan base. With concerts lasting more than three hours, during which the good energy is constantly growing, they are forging themselves into the stars of Slovenian rock music. September 16. In 2016, the Prismojeni Blues Professors will present a new program in Križanke, which will of course be crowned with their old hits. Don't miss one of the biggest autumn rock parties! Borštnik's meeting 2016

Borštnik's meeting 2016 will take place between October 14 and 23, 2016 in Maribor and, like every year (for more than 40 years), promises us unforgettable stage experiences. Borštnik's meeting, which is considered the oldest and most prestigious theater festival in Slovenia, attracts the most current domestic and foreign theater creators to its stages every year. Also this year, the prestigious award, the Borštnikov prstan, will be awarded to the selected actress or actor for her/his life's work. A rich cultural program awaits us.

A creative summer with LEGO® summer workshops in Citypark

This summer, the youngest heroes will be delighted by the LEGO® workshops, which will take place in front of the LEGO® STORE in Ljubljana's Citypark. The month-long program, which will accompany the children from July 18 to August 18, is intended for children of different ages and at different stages of development. Playing with LEGO® bricks allows thinking outside the established path and predictability, and such play gives children different perceptions of things that they never accept as the only and absolute.

Young Lions Festival 2016

A rich international festival of contemporary performing arts, Mladi levi, awaits us again this year. The 19th Mladi lev festival will take place between August 19 and 28, 2016 in Ljubljana and will host the most renowned stage artists from various parts of the world on its stages. Among others, Philippe Quesne, Penny Arcade, Christiane Jatahy, Benjamin Vedonck along with Maria Lucia cruz, Mallika Taneja and others will be featured.

Yellow Night 2016 – the night of all coastal nights

The Yellow Night, which is traditionally the biggest summer event on the coast and is nicknamed the night of all coastal nights, will be dedicated in 2016 to civilized enjoyment and the discovery of culinary and cultural dimensions that satisfy modern people. This time, the Yellow Night 2016 will stretch its tentacles all over Koper with its regional specialities. Each region will have a place to present its primary skills, activities and/or potentials.
