A group of researchers at the German University of Tubingen has developed an algorithm that can produce any photograph in the style of great painters such as Picasso and Van Gogh. Technically, this process is called deep learning, which is a collection of algorithms capable of independent learning without the help of a human. It is about the creation of artificial neural networks, where computer programs work according to the model of the human brain. This type of technology is already used by Google in photo recognition.
If you thought the best 'S' smartphone was the Samsung Galaxy S6 (Edge or Edge Plus) or the iPhone 6S (Plus), then we have to disappoint you. At least as good, if not better, is the newest member of Huawei's Mate family, the Huawei Mate S, the new flagship of this Chinese smartphone manufacturer, which is increasingly becoming the new Samsung and has thrown down the gauntlet to both the Koreans and Apple with its latest model. In Slovenia, the Mate S will be available in the fall of 2015, and across the pond it will be sold for a little over 700 US dollars.
Even the most beautiful personal computers act as a piece of technology that gives them coolness. Wood Kubb is the complete opposite of computers as we know them. It is a wooden cube that you will gladly plant in a visible place, which is hard to say for personal computers. Most of them therefore hide under the table. Despite its small size, it can do everything the big ones can do. The 12.5 x 12.5 centimeter wooden shell hides an Intel Core i3 or i5 processor. You can pre-order the Wood Kubb on Kickstarter for (calculated) 400 euros.
Former Apple CEO John Sculley, among others to blame for Jobs' temporary dismissal, launched a new smartphone brand called Obi Worldphone. In doing so, he teamed up with Robert Brunner, a former protégé of the company from Cupertino. The idea for the new brand was to create phones that do not make compromises and are made in Silicon Valley with the best components, but their price does not exceed 200 US dollars. And so the flagship Android Obi Worldphone SF1 and the more affordable Obi Worldphone SJ1.5 were born.
Six simple colorful letters on a blank page. This is Google. One, if not the most powerful brand in the world and a name that has become an independent verb in the dictionary. They recently changed the look of their recognizable logo, but while tectonic shifts are taking place in the background with the restructuring of the company, where the parent company was renamed Alphabet, Google remains faithful to its previous appearance. The web giant left the colors of the letters as they are, but used a new typography where the letters are softer. On the other hand, the icon experienced a more visible change.
The mobile phone market is as busy as ever. New models are coming like on a conveyor belt and even the biggest connoisseurs have a hard time keeping up with the pace of change. While the trends are still dictated by the big guys, their products from the Far East are increasingly making their way to the fore. Nevertheless, the phones that left the competition behind come from well-known "logs". To make it easier for you to decide among the multitude of offers, we have selected for you the ten best that reign in the second half of 2015.
Did you know that Wi-Fi waves are basically radio waves, with a shorter wavelength? Both Wi-Fi and radio waves (also used by mobile phones) fall under electromagnetic waves, but the difference between them is that Wi-Fi ones are significantly shorter (they are only 12 centimeters long compared to radio waves, which are several hundred meters) and therefore cannot extend further than approx. 45 meters. In addition, the signal is weaker with the distance from the wireless router, so we often encounter poor Wi-Fi signal quality. But by following simple instructions, you will get a stronger wireless network signal at zero cost.
Coolpad Porto and Coolpad Modena – flagships of the Coolpad smartphone brand, are coming to Slovenia
The seventh largest global and fourth largest Chinese smartphone brand, Coolpad, is coming to Slovenia. Coolpad Porto and Coolpad Modena are named after European cities, and their relationship between design, performance and price is exceptional.
Imagine a trackpad that's more than that. Which is also a tablet, keyboard, piano and electronic drum. And imagine it being so sensitive to touch that you could draw on it with a brush, a real brush, which would turn his strokes into digital art. It sounds a little too utopian, but that's exactly what the Sensel Morph promises, a versatile scrolling pad that can transform into just about any input device you can imagine.
The biggest weakness of smartwatches is that they look like smartwatches. It is clear as day that you have a miniature computer on your wrist. The Boldr Voyage, meanwhile, is billed as an intelligent watch rather than a smartwatch, as it's basically a quartz wristwatch that's just smart enough to tell you what's going on with your phone. In addition, it has a six-month autonomy, which is much longer than smartwatches that need a power source every few days or weeks.
Sure, you can have it as a toy, but the U-boat Worx C-Researcher 3 is not just made for fun, but primarily for serious work. For scientific research, to be precise. And thanks to the many tools he owns, he can collect samples and organisms, analyze the seabed and water, and draw underwater maps. In addition to the helmsman, it can carry two more passengers and dive to a depth of 1,700 meters, where previously only documentaries on programs such as National Geographic took us.
On the market, electric bicycles are growing like mushrooms after the rain, so their price is steadily falling, and their popularity is increasing. But in order to be able to talk about the "e-epidemic" of e-bikes, the price - in addition to weight, the main minus of such bikes - will have to drop a bit. Even before that, customers have a great alternative - ONwheel. A device that turns a regular bike into an e-bike in seconds. The battery and 800-watt brushless electric motor weigh just over 800 grams, which makes ONwheel kill two birds with one stone - weight and price.
