After the highly acclaimed premiere performance at last year's festival, the Cellofest ensemble will open this year's festival as well. The renowned Slovenian soprano Sabina Cvilak and cellists Maruša Bogataj, Karmen Pečar, Igor Mitrović and Miloš Mlejnik, who is celebrating his 70th birthday this year, will perform with him as soloists.
8-day music festival Cellofest 2017 will be held in Ljubljana for the second time in a row. They will host foreign and domestic masters of this instrument, who will present themselves to the audience in a wide variety of lineups. He will present himself again at the opening concert after the flight 12-member ensemble, which consists of excellent local cellists. They will perform as soloists: a famous soprano Sabina Cvilak and four outstanding local cellists.
In addition to top concerts, there will be concerts in Ljubljana during the festival master classes with well-known foreign educators (to Stephan Braun, Mario Brunello, Giovanni Gnocchi, Mats Lidström) and 3-day workshop for the youngest cellists from all over Slovenia. They are preparing in the atrium of the City Hall in Ljubljana photo exhibition Portraits of cellists and many free cellist events around town.
