The technology fair CES 2019 is considered a fair of prototypes, ideas in the field of consumer electronics and not so much products that will be on store shelves "tomorrow". It will take place between January 8 and 11, 2019 in Las Vegas.
Expectations are also high this year, primarily in the field of self-driving and connected vehicles, although there won't be anything revolutionary this year. As always, he will be at the fair CES 2019 power to find many headphones augmented (AR) and virtual (VR) realities, voice-controlled devices, ideas for smart homes and cities, accessories for sports and leisure, sleep quality meters and many other things that fall somewhere in between. There is also a good chance that the following technological trends will dominate this year.
1. Smart screens
Commanding by voice is in our blood and at the same time it is the most effective. At CES 2019, we will certainly not witness the start of Slovenian language support, but a whole bunch of voice-controlled devices will be shown, including those with screens. Smart speakers got a screen last year, so that the digital assistant can also display things, not just describe them.
2. Televisions
There will be no revolution this time, rather improvements in technologies and approaches that were shown last year. Let's mention, for example, the Samsung screen with small light-emitting diodes (micro LEDs). But assistants, especially Alexa, will find a faster way to TVs from different manufacturers, which is good. They learn the owner's speech much faster and therefore understand it better than previous TV voice control systems. We can also expect more TVs to have a picture settings mode adapted to Netflix.
3. Headphones
Digital assistants will start moving from speakers to headphones, which means simple control of listening to music, without having to raise our hand or blindly look for the appropriate buttons on the headphones. Most of the headphones will be wireless anyway, and a longer battery life can also be expected.
4. Foldable screens
The big "thing" will certainly be foldable screens. Samsung and LG are expected to show their prototypes, and probably others. These types of screens are not only suitable for smartphones, they can also change tablets and laptops. Just imagine a tablet as big as a book, but when the need arises, its OLED screen can be "stretched" to the size of a monitor. It will be interesting to see how the Android and Windows systems adapt to them.
5. Vehicles
The performance of autonomous driving will probably be similar to last year, and more and more "technologies" will find a place inside the connected vehicle. One of them is the OLED screens in the door panels, which will replace the side mirrors.
