On the first Saturday in June, the city of Maribor will be richer for a new charity festival, as members of the Rotaract club Maribor humanitarian society will bake delicious pancakes for all those with a sweet tooth, and visitors will have the opportunity to choose from more than 20 different fillings.
On the first Saturday in June, between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., Maribor will host the first charity Pancake Festival. Humanitarian Society Rotaract Club Maribor consists of 23 young people between the ages of 18 and 30, who have been carrying out humanitarian projects in the local community for 15 years. This year, they decided to connect all generations through a humanitarian touch and organize a culinary event that will add a new festival to the pulse of the city of Maribor. Members of the Rotaract club Maribor will try their hand at baking pancakes and collect voluntary contributions for the Leon Štuklja Foundation, which awards scholarships to talented students from socially disadvantaged families.
The pancake festival is an event that has touristic and cultural potential, as it brings together humanitarian organizations, local suppliers of home-made food and juices, and visitors from the wider region.
They have prepared for all visitors:
- tasting of Eneco apple juices
- tasting of homemade marmalades of the Mulec Winery
- tasting of more than 20 different fillings for pancakes
- presentation of the KULeBike project and a test drive with an electric bicycle
- presentation of the Leon Štuklja Foundation
- presentation of Rotaract Club Maribor.
