Kino Otok in Izola, illuminated by movie spotlights and sun, which for the third year in a row won its place among the European youth film capitals, invites all film lovers to join it in front of the movie screens between June 3 and 7 and celebrate its 11th anniversary. edition. This year, the focus will be mainly on young authors.
On 11th Kino Otok International Film Festival, to which an excellent selection of films by (less) well-known authors flocks every year, at the beginning of June this year, eyes will be slightly more focused on young film authors of the established short film section Beach video, which is one of the most recognizable sections of Kina Otok.
The fact that the festival will enter its teenage years proves a step towards new collaborations. Italy's leading science fiction film festival Science+Fiction from Trieste will enrich the program of the annual video cinema on the beach with a genre-tinged selection of science fiction, horror and fantasy short films. The second collaboration goes far to the other end of the world, to Australia, where the awardee comes from with two other candidates Raspberry Maria Mackiewicz, whose film Driftwood Dustmites was also included in the Berlinale 2015 program. The young filmmaker will present herself to our audience as part of the European Union Film Award.
