With the growing flood of SUVs, Citroën decided to reinvent the classic limousine car design. They want to achieve this with the so-called "Cactus" approach, which would also introduce a touch of spontaneity and playfulness into the field of more serious sedans.
Citroën is at the stage where it has to come up with a replacement for their very old C5 model. In addition, the void left by the departure of the C6 model will need to be filled. So we can be sure that Citroën does not have in mind some kind of average sedan, but a sedan that will not be able to be overshadowed by a bunch of new and old SUVs. Classic sedans are becoming less and less popular in Europe, as they are steadily being replaced by crossovers and SUVs. The "Cactus" design approach will set the new Citroën apart from other sedans, and it may well happen that we will see the already familiar "airbump" door protection on the new successor to the C5 and C6 sedans.
It will definitely be an inspiration to them Citroën Experience Concept, which wants to be at least as attractive as SUVs are to people. The focus will be mainly on comfort, as they will drink even more at Citroën progressive hydraulic suspension. Because of this technology, they have invested a lot 20 new patents. The next C5 model is expected to be both outstanding and technologically advanced. Some of us are already impatiently waiting to see what the sedan of the future will look like.
