Honda E: it will get cameras instead of rearview mirrors!

Honda E

In 2020, Honda plans to bring an all-electric car to the market, which will have cameras installed instead of side mirrors, which are said to help with aerodynamics and safety, and last but not least, they are also interesting to look at.

Fully electric Honda E will have available instead of side mirrors cameras – we will be able to monitor the image that only you will transmit on of two 6-in screens, which are built into the dashboard and placed in a similar place where classic mirrors would otherwise be located.

Cameras offer two ways image display: basic and extended. In the first case, our blind spot is reduced by 10 %, and in the second case for nothing 50 %, which further contributes to security in traffic. When driving backwards or when parking on the side, the camera's angle is visible to us yet additionally expand, and they appear on the screen instructions for the easiest possible parking.

They have cameras 90 % smaller airy resistance like classic mirrors – they are designed in a way that disabled collecting aquatic chapel, and the surface of the lens is covered with coating, which prevents the accumulation and retention of water.

Screens inside automatically adjust brightness depending on the lighting conditions outside and inside the car. The shape of the cameras will help to reduce the volume of the wind and enable higher speeds, and consequently also due to less resistance longer range.

The Honda E will be presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show - and it should be able to drive on a single charge more than 200 kilometers a long way, as it is supposed to 80 % batteries charged via a fast charger in just 30 minutes.

Using cameras instead of side mirrors is not an entirely new idea, as we have already tested such a concept in the practice at the car Audi e-tron. But they are definitely digital mirrors welcome the solution, which may become practice at to the majority car manufacturers!
