Office work requires us to sit still for hours at a time. Improper posture and an unsuitable work environment can lead to serious health problems.

Working at a desk in an office may sound quite simple, but sitting for hours and lack of movement can have for our body big consequences. The body is not evolutionary adapted to constant rest, let alone sitting and looking at a screen. Company Fellowes, which makes office supplies, decided to investigate the effects of office work on our body in a span of 20 years. Z behavioral futurist William Higham they made Emma doll in the right size that they are pestering all problems, related to such work.

A survey conducted in Great Britain found that 9 out of 10 office workers suffer from poor health. That's it the result of a poor working environment. The most common problems are sore eyes (50 %), back ache (49 %) and headaches (48 %). Workers mostly alleviate these problems with medication, which only alleviates the symptoms. The Emma doll, with which everything is wrong, warns of the drastic changes left on the body by a classic office job. It is too late for her, but the rest of us can still do something for prevention.
