The British car manufacturer MINI proves to us once again how serious they are with the electrification of their drives. For this purpose, they used an already proven icon and installed this very cool powertrain.
Classic Mini Electric unites in itself historical and the unmistakable look of the world's most popular small car and modern mobile technology of the future. The Mini is an icon that we all recognize, and with a modern electric drive, it got another chapter in its rich history. The original Mini from the second half of the 20th century thus became a cute ambassador environmental awareness and form of sustainable mobility, whose future has just begun.
The world of electric cars will soon be joined by the new Mini, which was presented in concept form at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2017. Its road version will be revealed next year, just as the classic Mini icon celebrates 60th anniversary the start of sales. An all-electric version of the Mini is currently under development and will be based on the existing three-door version of the Mini, and will be manufactured at the plant in Oxford, England. Otherwise, the Mini factory has already produced it 600 copies Mini E's in 2008, just to test the technology in everyday conditions. The Mini Cooper SE Countryman ALL4 Plug-In Hybrid is currently the electrified range of Mini.
The classic electric Mini introduced in New York will remain unique specimen. The base is a restored icon that has been given red paint and a contrasting white roof with white stripes across the bonnet. The reborn classic Mini remains faithful to its tradition both visually and in terms of driving characteristics. The electric drive increases even more go kart feeling behind the wheel, with which Mini impressed its customers years ago.
