The freshest trend in cycling is smart bikes. We already wrote about DuBik recently, but there are also Valour, Rogue C6,... Even a start-up company from Germany, iCradle, jumped on this train, but came up with a different approach - to turn classic bikes into smart ones. They managed to do this with a "gadget", a COBI mount that attaches to the handlebar, and its spiritus agens is a smartphone (iOS or Android).
COBI it is waterproof mount (with IPX6 degree of protection - not even a Kärcher jet can touch it alive), which can be installed on any type of bike, which gives him the title of smart. The holder is intended smartphone, but also has an LED light that emits 25 lux (range 10 meters), electronic bell, speed sensor, barometer, altimeter and ambient light sensor. The entire system is powered by a removable 3.6-volt battery Li-Ion battery with capacity 6000 mAh, which can be supplied on site or elsewhere. In the first case, he takes care of the power supply dynamo in the fist.
In addition, COBI owns a mine control stick (also on the steering wheel - in place of the bell), which is controlled by a finger, and last light, which wirelessly (bluetooth or ANT+) receives commands from the steering wheel and responds to sensors.

All these accessories equip the bike with many intelligent functions. So the lights come on automatically, as it starts to get dark outside. The rear light is both a brake light and a turn signal. The carrier is mobi charger. When the bike is locked and the phone is removed, the speed sensor remains active, which means it detects sudden movements (warning of possible theft) and reacted to them by turning on the lights and alarm, which is disabled when a phone is returned near the bike. The corresponding application supplies us with a live weather image, navigation, allows you to listen to music through services as is Spotify, the sensors send speed, distance traveled to the screen, calories burned,... Of course, COBI also enables calls. The functions are accessed via the mentioned "joystick", although the holder maintains the sensitivity of the touch screen.
COBI is currently on Kickstarter, and the first buyers will get it at a price of approx. 130 euros received in the second quarter of 2015.
