Did you know that there is a collection of used computers in Slovenia in October? You can bring your used computer to one of the dozen collection points until November 3, 2016 and do a good deed. With a donation, you contribute to reducing the burden of electronic waste in the environment and help employ people from endangered social groups, as the TIP&TAP social enterprise restores donated computers with the help of people who do not get opportunities on the labor market.
In Slovenia until November 3, 2016 is taking place collecting used computers. With the computer technology recycling and reuse project, you social enterprise TIP&TAP strives to create new jobs for people from socially vulnerable groups.
They support the project as part of the Green Capital of Europe 2016 activities Municipality of Ljubljana, Symbiosis, social enterprise Malo mesto and several branches of societies for the blind and partially sighted, as well as the deaf and hard of hearing. Used computer equipment the institution rehabilitates and employs people who, due to age, illness, injury or lack of education, do not get a chance on the labor market. Refurbished computers, which are three years old on average, are then offered to Slovenian buyers at an affordable price and with a one-year warranty.

The aim of the campaign is public awareness of the possibilities of recycling and reuse of computer technology or, as the director of the TIP&TAP Institute says Barbara Čufer: ”We often buy used cars, ski equipment, and increasingly also clothes, but rarely does anyone think of refurbished computers when buying a computer. With campaigns like this one, we want to draw attention to the importance of recycling electronic waste for the environment and the advantages that both the donation of used and the purchase of refurbished computer equipment bring. In addition to responsible environmental management, you also contribute to solving the social situation of weaker social groups."
