The most popular European comic opera of the 18th century, La Cecchina, or Nobody's Daughter, will premiere in early January.
The opera, which will be the fifth in Italian (with Slovenian subtitles), is about love, and its romanticism is "tempered" by many comic plots. It is about a rich marquis who falls in love with a poor gardener. With this, he shakes the strict world of the rules of the aristocratic world and the couple becomes a prisoner of social norms, for their story it seems that it is doomed from the beginning to an unhappy end. In Italy at the time, opera was so popular that many bourgeois villas and fashion shops were named after it. With this opera, the composer of the opera Niccolo Piccinni became the most important composer of comic opera and with his gentle melody had a significant influence on the then young Mozart.
