After almost a year of waiting, Placebo will return to Italian stages, more precisely to the prestigious Arena di Verona stage - a band that cannot be placed in any "box" (they are somewhere between rock, punk, glam rock and electro rock). We will be able to see the British band in Verona on May 20.
Placebo were founded in 1994 in London, where they met again in an underground station Brian Molko and the Swede Stefan Olsdal, an old acquaintance from a Luxembourgish school. After joint rehearsals and a few performances, they decided to form the group Ashtray Heart, which was soon renamed Placebo. The band's drummer became an Englishman Steve Hewitt. In 1996, Placebo signed a contract with Deceptive Records and released their first song, Come Home. He noticed them David Bowie and, even before they released their first album, he invited them as a support group on his tour. Later that year, they released Placebo, which went gold in the UK, the song Nancy Boy however, she made it to fourth place in the British charts. A record was released in 1998 Without You I'm Nothing, which was dominated by melancholic ballads. Two years later, the album was released Black Market Music. A record followed in 2003 Sleeping With Ghosts, which shows a greater influence of electronic music. In 2004, they released a compilation Once More With Feeling - The Singles 1996-2004, was released on both CD and DVD. Placebo's fifth album, Meds, was published in March 2006. Battle for the Sun was released in 2009 and after three years of silence they released B3 in October 2012 and the album in September 2013 Loud Like Love.
In addition to the inseparable Brian Molka (vocals, guitar) and Stefan Olsdal (bass, guitar, keyboard), Steve Forrest will be on drums on May 20th in Verona.
