Three-piece American pop punk band Green Day began her career in the second half of the eighties, and they achieved a breakthrough with the album Dookie (1994), on which we find rushes When I Come Around, Basket Case, She and others. Soon after, they recorded an album Insomniac (1995), and two years later the album Nimrod, which is considered by many to be their best album. Album Warning was released in the fall of 2000, a bestseller Minority and took first place on the American rock chart. The album sold much worse than its predecessors, and this also indicated a visible decline in their fame. After their material for their seventh studio album was stolen, the Californian punk rockers set about remaking the album, creating one of the best albums of 2004 - American Idiot. With it, Green Day restored their old glory, and they hit the hardest with hits Boulevard of Broken Dreams, American Idiot and Holiday. The success of the album was also confirmed by a very successful world tour and many awards. Among other things, they also got two Grammys (for the song Boulevard of Broken Dreams and for the album American Idiot).

They released their own this October Revolution Radio's 12th studio album, and it was announced by the single Bang Bang. Armstrong described it as a song that highlights the mass shootings that have been happening not just in America lately, but all over the world. In his opinion, the entire album is a reflection of today violent American societies.
