The legendary musician Carlos Santana, who is characterized by the interweaving of guitar riffs with rock, blues, Afro-Cuban, jazz and Latin rhythms, rose to fame in the late 60s and early 70s. One of rock's best guitar virtuosos will perform in Verona, Italy on July 20th.
American musician of Mexican origin Carlos Santana rose to fame in the late 1960s and early 1970s with his Santana Blues Band, which offered a mix of salsa, rock, blues and jazz, and their music was complemented by Santana's signature clean guitar lines. The group was later renamed Santana.
Santana's fame was made possible by an unforgettable appearance at the the Woodstock festival and the release of Santana's first record in 1969, where they played eight tracks, including Waiting, Evil Ways, You Just Don't Care, Savor, Jingo, Persuasion, Soul Sacrifice and Fried Neckbones and Some Home Fries. Soon they released their debut album Santana, two records followed Abraxas (1970) and Caravanserai (1972), then a new album almost every year.

Carlos remained true to his signature style in the following decades and in the late 1990s experienced a career resurgence with the help of the album Supernatural (1999), which featured hits such as Maria, Maria, Africa Bamba, Smooth and Corazon Espinado. For the album, which sold 25 million copies, he also received eight Grammys. With CD Shaman in 2002 he confirmed his top status in rock music. Albums followed All That I Am (2005), Guitar Heaven (2010), Shapeshifter (2012) and last year's Corazon, which Santana released in Spanish for the first time in his long career, and for the needs of the market, also in English and Portuguese versions.
