British dark indie masters Editors will perform at Tvornica kulture in Zagreb on September 4. They are coming as part of a European tour promoting their latest studio album The Weight Of Your Love.
Formed in 2002 in Stafford, England, the band experienced the success of the island's rock superstars after their first three years of existence. Their debut album The Black Room and singles Munich, Blood and Bullets, secured them a nomination for the prestigious Mercury Prize and tickets to major festivals such as T in The Park, Isle of Wight, Lollapalooza and Coachella.
The next album, End Has A Start, saw the light of day two years later and swung on number one in the UK Albums Chart. They removed five singles from the album (the most notable is certainly Smoker Outside The Hospital Doors), which brought them, among other things, their first performances at Glastonbury. The group certainly achieved its greatest success with the third album - In This Light And On This Evening (2009) featuring the hit single Papillon.
After several tours and the departure of Chris Urbanowitz, the band released fourth studio album The Weight Of Your Love.
So far, Editors have performed in Zagreb three times and provided a phenomenal atmosphere, which is an indication that it is one of the most popular British bands of the last decade, shoulder to shoulder with the wretched as they are Franz Ferdinand, Arctic Monkeys and Bloc Party.
