Foo Fighters is an American rock band from Seattle, who released their eighth album, Sonic Highways, in November this year, and are now starting their world tour, where they will also perform in Hamburg, Germany, on June 3, 2015.
Eleven Grammys, two awards BRIT and one MTV Music Video Award, are just some of the outstanding awards the Foo Fighters have deservedly achieved in their career so far. Foo Fighters was founded in 1994 by former Nirvana drummer, Dave Grohl, which they later joined as well Pat Smear, Nate Mendel, Taylor Hawkins and Chris Shiflett. The group was named after various aerial phenomena and UFOs reported by Allied aircraft pilots in World War II, collectively known as "foo fighters" or "foo fighters".
Dave Grohl is about the band at the very beginning The Foo Fighters thought more than a solo project, which he undertook immediately after the death of friend and member of the band Nirvana, Kurt Cobain.
